Review:

I started this project by creating my landscape in Adobe Illustrator and exporting on to After Effects, which I will be going over the steps on how I animated it, then I imported my composition to youtube and lastly, uploaded my project onto Wix. Motion paths define the position of a layer over time, which allows us to animate objects along a specific path. I drew a motion path using the pen too and copied it to my sun and moon in After effects. This made my sun look like its setting and the moon look like it's coming up to bright up the night sky. I also drew motion paths and placed them on to my clouds to make them move away to the sides as the moon is now coming through. Talking about photographs or paintings, the foreground is the part of view that is closest to the observer, middleground is the middle distance, and background is the scenery behind the main object. In my foreground I added plants and rock to make it seem as if it is a small clift. For my middleground I use the pen tool to draw trees and the ocean. I also added big mountains in my middleground using the curvature pen tool. In my background I created my night sky by using the rectangle tool and filling it with a gradient, I also added the clouds which were created by using the ellipse tool, then combining them with the shape builder tool. I created all these objects in Adobe illustrator. The parent pick whip is a tool in After Effects that is used for linking a layer’s properties to another layer’s properties. I used the parent pick whip to null my objects. Precomposing in AE allows us to group multiple layers in a single. I precomposed my layers in order to import my composition into a render queue. A position keyframe is a specific point in time on the timeline that marks a change in an object’s position. To create keyframes and move the position of my objects, I moved the timeline indicator and clicked the stopwatch in the position propertyBlend modes in After Effects are used to combine layers, affecting how one layer interacts with the layers beneath it, but I didn’t use blend modes for my composition. Easing controls the acceleration and deceleration of an animation, creating a more natural feel. The puppet pin tool allows us to deform and animate objects or layers by adding pins to specific points. I used the puppet pin tool to animate the trees, plants, and mountain reflections in the water by moving the pins back and forth.
